The rich glowing amber flowers of the South Africa® Sunbelt® rose are in a class of their own. Their radiance can be seen from afar. The blooms are non-fading, large and double in form. South Africa® is a grandiflora rose with dark green foliage and an upright growth habit, reaching 4′ – 5′ in height. Being part of the Sunbelt® collection this rose has been observed to perform well in hot and dry climates. From the classic to the romantic, this rose is a great addition to any garden, growing beautifully in many different conditions. South Africa® has been the recipient of many awards, including the Australian National Rose Trials Gold Medal 2018, Gold Standard award in 2009, Glasgow Gold Medal in 2006.

We ship throughout North America from the end of February to the end of April. We cannot ship outside of North America at this time.
When you place your order, select your preferred shipping date based upon your personal schedule, gardening preferences, and circumstances. You may have surgery or a travel schedule you need to consider. You may also have a green house or a micro climate that may require a different than suggested shipping date.
The general planting guidelines are as follows:
On rare occasions we may reach out to you with a different ship to date. This is solely to protect the quality and well being of the plants in response to ever changing weather patterns. Would we need to change your date you will be notified in advance by email.
All orders ship on Mondays. Canadian orders will be shipped via Purolator straight from our nursery to you. You will receive a tracking number from Purolator.
We reserve the right to refuse to ship orders if we deem the weather to be too risky to the plant’s health.

Under CUSMA, roses shipped from Canada to the U.S. are exempt from tariffs. However, with the new administration announcing a potential 25% tariff on Canadian goods, we may have to add these tariffs to your final invoice before shipping.
US orders are exported to our US Warehouse and ship Mondays via UPS. You will receive a tracking number from the warehouse, Freight Boy Inc. On occasions these tracking numbers have found their way into our customers’ email junk mail. Before reaching out to us please have a look there for a UPS shipment coming from Freight Boy, Niagara Falls, NY.

Pre-orders for the next bare-root pick up season will begin in December 2024, and orders will be scheduled for pick up in Spring of 2025.
Potted roses are available for pick up in-store, while quantities last, until the end of summer. Our garden centre hours of operation are Monday-Saturday, 9 am-5 pm. When placing an online order of potted roses, you will be asked to select a pick up date. These dates will only be available 48 hours from when you place your order, to allow our staff time to arrange the pick up. If you need to reschedule a pick up, please contact store staff at (905) 468-8627 or store@palatineroses.com as soon as possible.

As of September 9, 2024 our garden centre is closed for the season. Visitors are welcome in fall and winter by appointment only.
Our garden centre will open for it’s last season April 11, 2025.
